Sovietsky Hotel

Historical Hotel Sovietsky Hotel: (4 floors, 100 rooms) built in 1952 and reconstructed in 1997. The hotel is conveniently located close to Petrovsky Park on the way from the Kremlin (10 min by car) to the Sheremetyevo-II international airport. Within a 5 minute walk from the Hotel may be found the "Dynamo" sports stadium, Belorussky railroad station, and the beginning of Tverskaya Street, which leads to the Kremlin. This hotel was built by Josif Stalin`s order in a pompous "Soviet Empire Style", with large rooms, broad corridors, crystal chandeliers, etc. The Hotel was completely renovated in 1997. The Sovietsky Hotel is also home to the famous "Yar" restaurant, which was founded in 1826 and rebuilt in 1910.The Yar maintains the quaint atmosphere from the beginning of the 20th century, when it was most famous for its Gypsy performances. The restaurant has delicious Russian and European cuisine.
